Dr. Holt is the Founder and President of the Tendon Research Foundation. A PhD research scientist and Board Certified Toxicologist, he brings 25 years of experience in biotech and mid-sized company research and development spanning a wide array of therapeutic indications and drug delivery formats.
He has worked on over 30 US IND Applications and Clinical Trial Applications in the EU, Canada, and New Zealand, and has been part of 5 US and Global Registration filings including Gocovri and the Dapivirine IVR.
Dr. Holt will lead all Research and Development activities at the Foundation while working with the Board and other staff members in the operational aspects of the Foundation.
Following his initial BSc in Biophysical Chemistry at UC Berkeley, Dr. Schwarz earned a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University where he identified the crucial role of cell density signalling in tendon cell proliferation and procollagen production.

He has held positions at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, UK, Jackson Laboratories, and, since 1984, at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He has devoted his career to understanding tendon growth, repair, and cellular signalling.
In 2018, Dr. Schwarz founded SNZR LLC in order to fulfill the therapeutic potential of his work with tendon repair and cell density signalling.
Dr. Schwarz will provide scientific expertise and guidance on all Tendon Research Foundation programs.
Dr. Janssens has a PhD in neuroscience from Univerity of Illinois, Chicago and a BSc from the University of Michigan. She joins the Foundation as a board member with over 15 years experience in contract and pharmaceutical research with a focus in models of therapeutic efficacy.
